JEE Main January 2019 Begins Today; Important Points For Students


Joint Entrance Examination Main or JEE Main 2019 exam is scheduled to begin today, January 6. The JEE or Joint Entrance Examination Main is an eligibility test for admission on premier engineering and technology institutes in India.

This Examination was being conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) untill 2018. This is the first year that the JEE Main exam is being conducted entirely in the computer-based mode and also the first time that JEE Main is being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). According to reports, it is assumed that more than 9.5 lakh candidates will be appearing for the JEE Main exam being conducted in January 2019. The JEE Main January 2019 exam starts today, January 6, 2019, and will continue till January 20, 2019, at different centres located in 273 cities throughout the country.

The NTA, which conducted the UGC NET examination (the first ever exam organised by the newly-formed agency) recently, asked the candidates to not to adopt any unfair or indulge in any unfair examination practices as the examination centres are under CCTV surveillance and are equipped with Jammers.

Few things to keep in mind before you sit in the examination hall:

1. Download your admit card from the NTA Website and remember to carry it with you to the exam hall. It should preferably be printed in color on an A4 size paper. Take note of your reporting time, the gate closing time, shift and timing of exam, and venue detail, carefully. Make sure to comply with the exact timings mentioned.

2. You must carry a colored photograph of you with you. It should be the same as you uploaded in your JEE Main application form. Photocopies or Images Stored in mobile phones etc. will NOT be accepted as you will have to paste your colored passport size photograph on the attendance sheet at the centre.

3. You should also carry a valid photo identity proof in original. It could be (PAN card/Voter ID/Driving License/Passport/Aadhaar Card etc.

4. You CAN NOT bring instruments, pencil box, handbag, purse, wallet or any kind of paper/stationery/textual material (printed or written material). Blank paper sheets for rough work will be provided in the examination hall itself. You cannot bring eatables and water (loose or packed). Diabetic students will be allowed to carry eatables like sugar tablets and fruits (like apple/orange) and transparent water bottle to the Examination Hall/Room. You cannot bring mobile phones, microphone, earphone, pager, calculator, camera, to wear/carry any type of watch including electronic watches with facilities of a calculator. You cannot bring any metallic item or electronic gadgets/devices to the examination hall.

A positive attitude is an important factor to avoid negativity and overconfidence during the exam. So carry that as well. Good Luck!
